What is PBL?

PBL is a way of

going back to use emotional processes in learning and not only cognitive
aspects as we learn from those situations which we contextually:

Need

Motivate us

Create a certain curiosity

Enthusiates us

Help us to communicate with others

Make us feel special

In short:  EMOTIONALLY TOUCHES US

  • Work on real-world topics which "touch" our students
  • Form people and develop a significative learning

Project-based learning is an active methodology which puts the student in the middle of the learning process and allows students to acquire knowledge and basic competencies of the 21st century through the elaboration of projects which deal with real-life problems.

  • The students are involved in a process which includes inquiry and the creation of a product dealing with a topic of their personal reality
  • the process ends with the creation of a product
  • The projects are designed in a way that the student can include in a factual way the contents and learning standards
  • Implementing PBL means that the topics and learning focus can be designed by the teacher in a more open way so that the final product is not the only important result of the unit, but also the learning process itself and the development of the basic competencies by the students throughout the learning process.
